CHARITIES Who you will help! During its 18 years Skate for Kids has raised more than $670,000 which has been fully donated to several different charities.
The National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS) Canada The National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS) (www.nabs.org) is the only national charitable organization in Canada that provides assistance to communication industry professionals, their spouses and children. NABS often provides assistance to children and family members who may need help due to illness, injury, unemployment or financial difficulties. NABS services include a national toll-free HELPLINE (1-888-355-5548), financial assistance, skills assessment and retraining, an online job board – ‘CareerSite’, as well as emotional, personal and career counseling services. Founded in 1983, and supported 100% by the industry, NABS has contributed more than $8.0 million to thousands of industry colleagues and their families in the past 25 years. NABS has chapters in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec and provides services in every province. Net proceeds of the fundraising from the 2009 ‘Skate for Kids’ event will be used to help industry professionals, children and family members requiring NABS assistance in the next 12 months.

416-962-0446 St. Michael’s College School St. Michael's College School was founded in 1852 by the Basilian Fathers, and stands as Ontario's only independent Catholic school for young men. The school offers students in grades 7-12 an enriched, Liberal Arts, Catholic education complemented by a diverse number of co-curricular programs. St. Michael's prepares students for university studies and to be leaders in their community. Funds raised through Skate for Kids will go towards the Bursary programme which assists those unable to afford the cost of tuition. Website
